Still don't get it?

     Some people seem to have trouble figuring out why our nation is so far in debt.  Many complain that tax cuts are responsible for our nation's five trillion dollar debt.  Or it's military spending, or perhaps ... Choose your favorite victim...
     If this is you, it would seem you just don't get it.  Entitlements are the cause of deficts.  To help clarify this perspective, post your credit card number on the internet so that most anyone who feels the need can use it.
     When it comes time to pay your bills at the end of the month, blame the fact that you are short on funds to your landlord, your utility company, your car loan -- anything but your credit card bill.  Perhaps it is because your boss isn't paying you enough.  If you don't get it that month, sell your car, turn off the utilities, move into a tent, and wait till next month's credit card bill.  I am confident you will soon get the message.
     Also, when you try to cut us off your credit card, we will scream that you are a mean spirited and heartless right wing conservative radical. Our kids will go without lunches, schools will close, the rug rats won't have blankets to keep them warm at night, whole families will be out in the cold without your credit card to support them.
     At some point, it is hoped that you will eventually "get it".  If not, your bank will just take your credit card from you.  This isn't just my opinion.  Welcome to REALITY.  
     Of course this all changes if you are a tax and spend Congress and White House.   Then your "bank" is made up of our kids, grandkids, and generations not yet born -- future taxpayers who can't vote.  You are secure in the knowledge that in spite of a Constitutional mandate to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, no one will be principled enough step to the plate to complain how you are enslaving future generations to pay the bills for today's entitlements.  
     Of course, the fine print is that government can get away with this charade so long as there are plenty of flatlanders willing to go along with it.  The politicians just plan on dumping the bill for all this extravagance on newborns.  Talk about compassion...
