Cosmetic Tooth Whitening Options

The Clinic offers several options to whiten your teeth.
Whitening isn’t covered by the typical dental insurance.

  • Cosmetic Restorative Whitening
    • The Clinc can place white colored porcelain veneers or fillings to whiten your smile. This is how Hollywood smiles are generally ‘made’.
    • Many people’s teeth will never get Hollywood white by any other means.
    • One or two discolored teeth can be whitened by restorations to match other normal or whitened teeth.
  • In Office Whitening
    • An in-office whitening session can provide a rapid whitening change in a single two hour session.
      • The Clinic offers both Kor and Bright White in-office whitening.
      • However, some of the color is likely to return in a few days without also using custom whitening trays.
      • Recent research suggests that wearing whitening trays at night for two weeks before provides a better whitening effect.
  • Custom trays
    • Provide controlled whitening over time. Best done with a little before an in-office session and followed afterwards for the best result.
      • The Clinic offers both Kor and Bright White take home trays. The Kor trays provide the most effective tray whitening, but also cost more.
      • A year or two later, a couple night sessions with trays in good shape can be used to renew your whitening in a year. We provide patients in good standing with regular checkups free tubes of whitening for their existing trays.
  • Whitening Strips
    • Quick, affordable and simple and remarkably effective in some cases.
  • Kor Whitening
    • The Kor system is recognized as the most effective tooth whiting systems available.
    • Both home and in-office treatments are part of the Kor Whitening system
    • Kor can, in many cases, even whiten difficult tetracycline and mineral stains.
  • Bright White In-Office and Home Whitening
    • The Bright White system is similar to Kor, only with slightly milder chemistry.
    • Ideally, there are both in-office whitening followed by home trays.
  • Whitening Strips
    • Affordable, but limited Whitening with little hassle. Just put the strips on your teeth and wear for 30 minutes or so until the strips are gone or you get as white as you wish.
    • Beware, it’s not uncommon to have people buy a box, followed by another box and end up spending more on the strips than they’d spend on one of the custom tray systems. And never get the teeth as white.
