There are many benefits to the Taxpayer Directed Budget process beyond its relatively straight forward  and honest premise. Some of the additional potential effects are provided here to peak your interest and to lead you on to further contemplations, of which there are many.  Did you know a TDB could be the means to a stable world wide peace?

• A TDB is a unique republican and democratic solution to our nation's fiscal and moral crisis. It is republican since the details for the budget are controlled by elected representatives of our republic. The TDB process is highly democratic since each citizen has a voice in the budget process. These two philosophies are blended into one compatible system in the TDB.

• Ideally, one might be able to donate a significant portion of one's welfare activity dollars to a private charity for full tax credit.  It is likely that more dollars will be provided to the needy under such charity than are currently being provided by government welfare programs. This means that one might actually be able to both have more compassionate welfare being provided to the needy while also directly dealing with the Federal Debt. This can only happen if individuals are left the option to choose how to direct their charity dollars.

• The TDB cannot used by individuals to eliminate the Military, Welfare or any other specific Activity. This is because the TDB process is outlined and developed by the President and Congress. The converse is also true. Politicians have limitations on how much they can increase funding for any specific activity unless they are able to make the case for such an endeavor to the population at large.

• The TDB provides significant incentive to level the tax code to a simple fair tax code so that everyone will have 'their fair share' in the budget process. After all, with a just and balanced tax code, the more everyone evenly participates in the TDB budget process.  In most respects this is the missing check and balance to "fairness" in the tax code. One cannot honestly make the argument that those who pay their fair share should have less say in how those taxes are budgeted. Never-the-less, there will undoubtably be a segment of society that will continue to make such claims. A TDB provides a counterpoise to limited keep this segment of society from dominating hardworking taxpayers of this nation.

• Stable World Peace.  In the long term, a TDB may have profound international effect. It can provide a meansto peacefully resolve difficult problems with long term stability by empowering individuals, not politicians with the power to resolve the issue.  By empowering the common citizen to make a choice betweeen high military and defense spending versus other needs in a fiscally responsible fashion, there will be a long term and reasonably controlled trend towards the appropriate lowering of military spending with long term stable international peace may be a potential result.  Conversely, it provides a tool to strengthen a weak military in proper relationship to perceived military and national defense threat.  

     Bottom line, as long as politicians (whether democratically elected or not) control their national budgets, there remains a need for a strong military and national defense.  If the average citizen sees a need to direct their nation towards other goals and ideals, the TDB can provide a tool to break the bond the politicians have with power over the average citizen without necessary taking power away from the politician.  They will still have budgets to deal with -- however, regardless of their means of accessing power, they will quickly find pride and power (as well as love for a leader) can be found in providing their people what the people want within reasonable democratic and republican guidelines.  

    Of all the reasons and benefits of a TDB, the long term international potential is perhaps the most intriguing. It builds upon the premise that that it is not necessary or perhaps desirable to have "one world government".  It is possible to have a productive, diverse and a peacefully coexisting world civilization.

    The key to a self sustaining world peace with a vibrant and prosperous humanity allowing for stable rights for ALL individuals is to be found in an environment were every productive individual has an integral part in guiding the greater society and humanity that envelops them, not visa versa.
